Chapter 49
Good manners

765. 1. Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (p): From the viewpoint of belief, the believer who has good manners is stronger in belief.(B5,C49,T1)

766. 2. Prophet Muhammad (p): On the Day of Judgement nothing will be more weighty in the balance of deeds than good manners.(B5,C49,T2)

767. 4. Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (p): After the performance of the enjoined duties, God likes nothing better than a good mannered believer.(B5,C49,T4)

768. 5. Prophet Muhammad (p): In the eyes of God, the reward of a believer who has good manners is equivalent to the reward of one who spends his days in fasting and nights in prayers.(B5,C49,T5)

769. 6. Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (p) quoted Prophet Muhammad (p): The majority of those who will enter paradise from my community will be God-fearing and good mannered.(B5,C49,T6)

770. 7. Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (p): Good manners evaporate sins as the sun evaporates frost.(B5,C49,T7)
771. 8. Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (p): Virtue and good manners populate a city and cause longevity.(B5,C49,T8)
772. 12. Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (p): God bestows on a well mannered believer the same reward which He bestows on one who fights in the way of God either in the morning or in the evening.(B5,C49,T12)
